Hi everyone! A few reminders...
(1) Equipment. If you have NOT turned in your pants, please let me know A.S.A.P. The league has stated that your son will not receive his trophy until the equipment is turned in.
(2) League Trophy Night. Friday, Nov. 14 at Pathways Church in Santee. (Any trophies not picked up will be handed out at the team party).
(3) Team Party. Saturday, Nov. 15, 3:00pm. Please arrive on-time and have your Release Form completed prior to arrival. This will help us get into the playroom much faster so the boys get the entire time to play, not wait in the lobby. PLEASE bring socks for each person planning on playing!
Thanks! See you guys soon!

Cowboys,
Congratulations on a SUCCESSFUL 2008 FOOTBALL SEASON! You finished with the Best Football Record in Santee and you qualified for the Playoffs! The Santee Cowboys Flag Black Football Team was one of only 12 teams out of 32 to qualify for the Playoffs. You should be proud of that fact, you earned it!
It takes a special group of YOUNG MEN to finish a season with a 5-3-1 record. You worked hard to improve yourself throughout the season. Good things come to those who work hard.
YOU ARE ALL WINNERS! Believe in yourself. Amazing things can happen, when you Believe in Yourself and Work Together as a TEAM!
At the beginning of this football season, I had a feeling that this TEAM could be something SPECIAL! I had a feeling that this season would be a memorable one! You proved me right!
The coaching staff, your parents, family and friends are extremely proud of how successful you have been this season!
It has been an honor to be your Head Coach!
Sincerely,
Head Coach Ron Griffin, Jr.

3 Game Winning Streak!
Cowboys,
You are working together as a TEAM and playing like YOUNG MEN! The win over SSDIB (Red) Chiefs gave us a 5-2 record (which is the best football record in Santee). Keep up the effort in practice and the results will continue to show on Game Day.
Winning 3 Games in a row is a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT at any level of football! The coaching staff, your parents, family and friends are extremely proud of how successful you have been this season.
The win over SSDIB (Red) Chiefs was a battle. We took on a team that had both size and speed. But, we were the BETTER TEAM! We stuck together as a TEAM OF YOUNG MEN! We took on their best and held onto a 13-12 VICTORY with help from everyone from this TEAM! Everyone had a part in this VICTORY!
Cowboys, we are not done. We have more victories in us! This team can still get better!
Our goal this week is to continue the string of great practices and go into Chula Vista and make it our field for our 4th straight victory! Cowboys, believe in yourselves! YOU ARE ALL WINNERS! Amazing things can happen, when you Believe in Yourself and Work Together as a Team!
Work Hard, Play Hard, We are Cowboys!!!
Thank you,
Head Coach Ron
As always, THANK YOU to the parents who volunteered at the game on Saturday: Dave R., Jenna, Rudy, and Tony. We couldn't do it without you!

Congratulations On Your Two Game Winning Streak!
2 Game Winning Streak!!!
Cowboys,
Another great week of practice culminated into a total Team Victory against the Steele Canyon Cougars! The coaching staff, your parents, family and friends are extremely proud of how much you have improved as a TEAM throughout the 2008 football season! A 2 Game Winning Streak is an awesome accomplishment!
The final score was 28-12, but there was a key moment in the game where we all worked as a TEAM (players and coaches) and sealed the victory. In the second half, we were leading 13-0 and then Steele Canyon made it a game with a quick score to pull within 13-6. This group of players and coaches withstood the challenge and drove right down the field and scored a touchdown with a 2point conversion to make the score 21-6.
Then our 'Darkside Defense' stepped onto the field and shutdown the Steele Canyon Cougar's offense. Our offense got the ball back and marched right down the field like a machine to increase the score to 28-6. We quickly turned a tight 13-6 game into a comfortable victory! Steele Canyon slipped in late with a score to make it a 28-12 game. And, finally our offense ran out the clock to clinch our 2nd straight TEAM VICTORY!
Cowboys, we are not done. We have more victories in us! This team can still get better!
Our goal this week is to continue the string of great practices and go into someone else's house for our 3rd straight victory! Cowboys, believe in yourselves! You are all Winners! Amazing things can happen, when you Believe in Yourself and Work Together as a Team!
Work Hard, Play Hard, We are Cowboys!!!
Thank you,
Head Coach Ron

VICTORY!
Cowboys,
Great TEAM Victory on Saturday against the Clairemont Hawks! We had a great week of practice and it showed on the field!
With the game on the line, the entire TEAM played like YOUNG MEN!!! The coaching staff, your parents, family and friends are extremely proud of you!!!
On our final offensive possession the score was tied 13-13 with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game. We drove down the field and found ourselves in a 4th and 15 situation from the 35 yard line. We took a timeout and made the perfect play call ('Slot Left, Strong, Streak'). The snap was perfect, the blocking was excellent, the pass was on target, and the catch and run was amazing!!! We scored the go ahead touchdown on a 35 yard pass play with 17 seconds on the clock. We then followed that play up with the 2 point conversion to put us up 21-13.
Now, it was our turn to stop them. Our 'Darkside' Defense was up to the challenge, because we stopped them on 4 quick plays. It took a total TEAM effort to win a close game!
Work Hard, Play Hard, We are Cowboys!!!
Thank you,
Head Coach Ron
As always, THANK YOU to the parents who volunteered at the game on Saturday: Beckie, Rita, Dave R., Dave H., Jenna, Larry, Rob, and Tyson. We couldn't do it without you!

Post Game Note from Coach
Cowboys,
You are a better team than the scoreboard reflected! I am proud of each and every one of you. You stuck together as a team. We win as a team, we lose as a team, but we never quit. Build on the things you did right during our game Saturday and throughout the football season thus far. Do not dwell on what we did wrong. This Cowboys team has talent and heart.
You are a great collection of football players that I am honored to coach. And, I know Coach LD, Coach Tony, Coach Troy, Coach Ponch and Coach Steve feel the same way.
I want to continue the string of great productive practices that we had last week. Please, do your schoolwork, be safe, have fun and come ready to improve yourself as young men on the football field Tuesday.
Work Hard, Play Hard, We are COWBOYS!!!
Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles please relay this message to your Cowboys.
Thank you,
Head Coach Ron
Please note: If you have questions, concerns or problems - please feel free to approach me before or after practice. I want our team to be unified on the field and in the stands. You would be surprised how the vibes in stands filter onto the field. We all volunteer our time for our Cowboys. I want our Cowboys to have positive memories of this season.
As always, THANK YOU to the parents who volunteered at the game on Saturday: Dave, Jenna, Mike, Rob, and Tyson. We couldn't do it without you!
